ADOX for cutting oils
Cutting oils and coolants can be kept free from obnoxious odours, slime and bacterial spoilage by proper treatment with ADOX.
General Application Guidelines:
To Fresh Clean Batch
Add 1 oz per 5 gallons of oil or coolant. Repeat each 2 weeks or at the first indication of souring.
To Extend use of a Spoiled Batch
If heavy contamination has already taken place, the life of a system can often be extended by double dosage (2 oz per 5 gallons) and daily addition of the same amount until odour and putrefaction diminish.
Preparatory to week end shut down periods, add an extra 1/2 oz ADOX per 5 gallons for each day of anticipated shutdown.
For High Volume, Continuous Process Systems
Consult us for technical service and recommended dose levels. Experience has shown that 10 gallons of ADOX per million gallons can effectively decontaminate spoiled systems.
Laboratory tests on contaminated field sample of cutting fluid treated with 1/2 oz/gallon showed the following bacterial count reduction.
Untreated Oil Time After Treatment Treated Oil
1,100,000 10 mins later 60,000
2,500,000 17 hours later 0
2,900,000 65 hours later 0
3,000,000 113 hours later 400
Given sufficient time the bacteria in the oil were killed with the addition of ADOX. Both solutions remained at room temperature. The untreated oil increased in bacteria count and the treated oil remained free of bacteria growth.

Adhesives
ADOX is used in emulsion polymerised adhesive applications. Specific application is as a microbial inhibitor (Anti bacterial agent).
