Hydro Nations Summit 2017 in Bangalore

Our Chairman, Derek Cameron recently had the incredible opportunity to revisit Bangalore in India for the ‘Hydro Nations’ 2017 summit, an international water event set up to tackle some of the world’s most challenging water resource issues.
It’s a unique initiative being taken forward by Scottish water technology companies, enabling participants to work collaboratively and bring together R&D resources. Backed by The Scottish Government and Scottish Development International, the summit for 2017 convened in one of the world’s first eco village resorts on the outskirts of Bangalore. One of the key themes at the event looked at the clean-up of the River Ganges, arguably the largest environmental project in the world. 500 million people live in the basin and the river gets over 12 billion litres of sewage discharge per day.

Speaking after the event, Scotmas Chairman Derek Cameron said:
“Worldwide innovation and collaboration has helped to propel Scotmas to its current leadership position in ClO2 water disinfection technology. Only by working closely with end users in water limited environments, can we deliver solutions that are not only technically advanced, but also sufficiently robust and cost efficient. The Hydro Nations Summit gave an inspirational insight into the work being carried out across all aspects of the water sector, as we move to greater water reuse and resource recovery”.
Scotmas are looking to take forward a number of the collaborations made at the 2017 summit over the coming year. Chlorine Dioxide is one of the most powerful biocides available in the world and we look forward to sharing our expertise to develop long-term and cost-effective solutions.
