The Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading the sales effort for the Scotmas Compliant Water markets in the UK, namely Healthcare, Building Services, Food & Beverage and Industrial markets.
Working closely with the Commercial Director, Account Manager and supported by Sales Administration and Marketing teams they will have responsibility for developing and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate the target markets.
They will manage inbound enquiries and generate of new business leads, working them to completion through the sales process. Establishing and nurturing relationships with building services engineers, facilities managers, and industry experts to promote our advanced water disinfection technologies.
They will have a passion for and experience of applied engineering to enable our solutions led sales approach which focuses on expert application of our technology to achieve industry leading results for our customers. Skills which would enable the BDM to carry our site surveys and have onsite technical discussions are highly valued. They will collaborate with technical teams to tailor solutions that meet client-specific requirements.
As part of the Commercial team (10 people), they will work closely with the Commercial Director, Account Manager and supported by Sales Administration and Marketing team closely with our Project and Service Engineers.
Flexible or part time hours negotiable for the right applicant. Our location in the Scottish Borders offers a fantastic lifestyle however applicants UK wide will be considered and a mix of home and office working is available.

What about you?
- Proven track record in sales (minimum 5 years), specifically within the water treatment industry or related fields
- Strong understanding of the operational needs and compliance standards in the food and healthcare sectors
- An aptitude and strong interest in Engineering, with the ability to communicate with both sales and engineer stakeholders Evidence of formal sales training
- An entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for innovation and an ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
