At Scotmas, we believe that strong engineering and technical solutions are built on continuous learning, research, and collaboration.
As part of her distance learning programme with the University of Edinburgh, our Technical Executive Kaiya Edwards recently completed a research project exploring the global challenges surrounding water scarcity, waterborne disease, and water treatment technologies.
The research brings together insights from environmental science, microbiology, and public health to examine how water treatment systems can help reduce the spread of pathogens and support safe drinking water supplies.
The work also reviews published research on Chlorine Dioxide disinfection, exploring how this technology is evaluated within the broader context of global water treatment challenges. The research does not promote a single solution, but instead presents a balanced overview of the evidence and allows readers to explore the topic further.
Supporting professional development and academic engagement is an important part of our culture at Scotmas. By encouraging our team to pursue further education and research opportunities, we aim to strengthen our technical knowledge and contribute to informed discussions within the water treatment sector.
